Senglea Priest who made Honor to Senglea

By Mr. Fabian Mangion

Canons and Senglean priests who made a good name for themselves and an honor to Senglea, their city of birth, during the twentieth century

Senglea has been renowned for the good number of priests and professionals who were born here. Even the Collegiate always had a Chapter with a good number of Canons all from Senglea. Many were the priests and Canons who made a name for themselves during the twentieth century. It is fitting that we pay tribute to some of them and thank them for all they have done to honor Senglea, the city of their birth.

Naturally, apart from the personalities we featured there are others who also deserved to be mentioned such as: Can Dun Frangisk Marendo, Can Dun Gwann DeDomenico, Canon Dun Goffred Lubrano, Canon Dun Frangisk Abela and Canon Dun Arturo Bonnici who even through made a good name for themselves and for Senglea could not be featured in this series because of the great amount of material it needs to insert. It is obvious that we all can learn from past events. From the above writing one can see how much our forefathers loved their city of Senglea and how much they were attached to Marija Bambina and its Sanctuary. May we in this new era continue to imitate them so that we can be seen as a good example to follow by those come after us.
